Alegria's Spectacular Gems for Summer: Camp at Mt. Lanaya, Trek to Kalo-Kalo Peak, and Swim to Cambais Falls

Summer is Here! Trek+Camp+Swim was the second major event we had. The first one was the Pre-Hearts Day held in the City of Naga. The same as the previous event , it was done successfully and peacefully. On behalf of Laag Bisaya Team, I would like to say thank you to those who attended and contributed to the success of the event. Thank you so much for your cooperation and following the simple bukid rules.

Basically, the event should have 52 joiners and 13 organizers. Unfortunately, there were more than 20 laagans who did not made it due to some circumstances. But if the attendance were complete, surely we could have had a hard time in going to Alegria since most of the buses going there can only accommodate 40-50 passengers.

So yeah, there were only 33 heads in total who showed up in South Bus Terminal. These includes the people from different groups, like Team Bang, Pakno Bords, Southside Stories and CJ Estrada the Vlogger. (Makaikog kaayo ang mga ni uban kay mga pemus. haha)

Everyone seems very excited, bags were fully packed with necessary things and other stuff. We leave South bus at 0700 am and we arrived at Brgy. Legazpi, Alegira around 11 am. Before we ascend, everyone completed the registration at the Brgy Hall and paid the entrance and guide fee. Instant 5k+ ang Brgy kay there were 33 heads plus 2 sa nag una so 35 heads in total and 150.00 per head. For me, it's kinda expensive but we can do nothing about it.

We officially started our hike with prayers and a short orientation. We just had a quick reminder about the Leave No Trace Principles and advised everyone about the basic rules.

To make the story short, we arrived at the campsite at 1:00 pm. We ate lunch first and then set up our camping tents later on. We already anticipated that there will be other group of campers during that day, so despite of the heat of the sun, we set up our tents so that we can have a comfortable place/surface to stay.

Some of the joiners together with CJ, Pakno Bords, and Southside Stories ascended to the peak around 3 pm and what happened there? That I do not know (lels), you may watch the video below by our pemos friend CJ Estrada. They arrived back at the campsite around 5 pm before the sun set. The other half of the joiners just stayed in the campsite and some fell asleep, gipang kapoy. haha.

The sky that time was kinda moody, murag siya sigeg grumpy2. Tagsaay mo taligsik and sometimes mo clear nasad. Supposedly, we'll eat our dinner together, however, due to unpredictable weather, everyone just stayed on their tents for dinner.

After eating, kay ni clear naman sad ang kalangitan, everyone gathered around for the socials. We started introducing our names to each other and added some details regarding ourselves. Ang super lingaw nga part is when we do the game so called the "S game", it's actually pretty simple game, matod pa sa Pakno Bords, maka BOGO nga duwa. haha.

Lights off around 12 midnight and woke up at 5am since half of the group planned on going to the peak. I actually went with them but wala pay one forth sa trail I went back to the campsite kay gikapoy ug giduka.

Alegria is known for its magnificent Cambais and Cancalanog Falls, so other joiners didn't miss the chance to visit and wade into the cold and relaxing falls. Cambais and Cancalanog Falls can be reached via habal2, it will cost you P200.00 for Cambais only back and forth and P250.00 - P300.00 for 2 falls and its back and forth. For transportation, you can contact this approachable gentleman at +63 935 959 5279 and his name is Bheboy Legarde

At the end of the day, I think everyone had a great experience and enjoyed a lot. We were so glad and happy that the event successfully ended though there were some lapses in terms of departing from South Bus Terminal to Alegria.

But as long as everyone were safe, everyone had fun and no one was harmed, that gives great joy to us.

Surely, there are no laws that would prevent you from doing something or fun activities as long as you do not disturb others or hurt nature and environment, Right?

Enjoy your trip and let your worries go away even just for a day! Always remember The Leave No Trace Principles,

  • Plan ahead and prepare
  • Travel and camp on durable surfaces
  • Dispose of waste properly
  • Leave what you find
  • Minimize campfire impacts
  • Respect Wildlife
  • Be Considerate of other visitors

LEAVE nothing but FOOTPRINTS, TAKE nothing but PICTURES, KILL nothing but TIME.

Cheers mate!
