NOWADAYS, people want to get rid of stress and explore new places. There’s a new breath-taking creation for you to enjoy located in Cadapdapan, Candijay, Bohol. Recently, I wrote a blog about the magnificent Kawasan Falls in Trinidad Bohol. AS mention, there are heaps of falls in Bohol, however, I don't know them all. Another falls that we're visited with friends was the falls in the Candijay Bohol, the Can-umantad Falls. The actual name of the place is Eleuterio's Can-umantad Falls and Rice Terraces Resort Inc.
About Can-umantad Falls
Can-umantad falls is located in Cadapdapan, Candijay, Bohol. It is approximately 12 kilometers from the highway of Lungsod-daan Barangay of Candijay. Quiet far from Tagbilaran City but one thing that I am sure is that, your long travel is surely worth it. Can-umantad falls is said to be the tallest falls in Bohol and has 60 ft in height. Sounds terrific right? I saw it myself and it was splendid. I know you guys are eager to go to this stunning water fall. Upon reading this blog post, you will be able to know how to get there. As per my research about the location of the falls from proper Candijay, it is 30 minutes travel from the Poblacion of Candijay and you’re going to see this amazing and stunning water fall. You will be in awe in Mother Nature’s Beauty. It’s clean, clear and cold water will surely entice you to enjoy swimming.
The place is very perfect for a family picnic, team outing and other fun activities like river trekking and swimming with your loved ones. Have a free back massage with the splash of heavy flowing water. You will have a kind of a long hike from the reception or center area of Eleuterio's Can-Umantad Falls and Rice Terraces Resort Inc. It was like more or less 30 minutes descend to the highlight of the place. Note, please take extra care in the place, don't be so hasty for the way around or go down is slippery. After the almost 30 minutes hike going to the highlight, we're awed by the terrific and amazing falls. The water fall is so tall indeed. Every deep breath and sweat going down are all worth it seeing the falls. The experience is priceless if you visit and swim to this highest falls. Aside from the waterfalls; Candijay has still a lot more to offer.
Our Laag
We visited a quite number of places in the Bohol during our trip there. We had a great time and experience in Can-umantad Falls. The personnel and the tour guide in Eleuterio's Can-umantad Falls and Rice Terraces Resort Inc. is very friendly and approachable. Of course, we took lots and lots of photos with random "blogger" pose. Lol! Don’t forget to bring along with you, your camera for documentation purposes. LOL. We ate our lunch there with the group, by the way, I would highly recommend their super tasty "halang halang", made of native chicken. A minute after we eat our lunch, we prepared our gears, camera, swim gear/wear. It is highly suggested to ask for a tour guide for your safety precautions and especially when you are planning to go swimming.
Before you can see the beauty of the falls, you have to get rid of hundred steps going to the highlight. It was so tiring and air consuming walk when you are not used to walk in that kind of trail. But when you arrive in the falls everything is worth it. The water fall and the rock formation is so stunning and amazing as previously mentioned.
How to get to Candijay?
If you're traveling from Tagbilaran City, get a ride going to the Bus Terminal and get a Bus or a V-hire (GTExpress) bound for Ubay (usually with sign Boards, Jagna-Ubay), if you're not sure you can always ask the people in the terminal of ask the dispatcher. You may let the driver know that your stop is in Lungsod-Daan (skena Can-umantad Falls) or your may stop at the Municipality of Candijay Tourism Office and look for the tourism officer. Travel time is roughly 2-3 hours.
How to get to Can-Umantad Falls?
From Lungsod-Daan, you need to hire a “habal-habal” or a motorcycle to going to Can-umantad Falls. No worries, because there are heaps of drivers staying near the highway. I suggest you ride the same motorcycle back and forth for a sure travel. It is quite far from the highway. Only few motorcycle stay in Can-umantad to fetch passengers. In our trip, we asked the driver to wait for us in Can-umantad so that we will have no problem in transportation. As far as I remember, the fare is 60.00 PHP but since the driver will wait then they will ask an extra, so it will be 100.00 (200.00 back and forth).
How much is the entrance fee?
The public entrance fee of Eleuterio’s Can-umantad Falls & Rice Terraces Resort Incorporated is P30.00 per head and additional P20.00 for motorcycle parking fee.
What to wear and bring?
You may wear shorts and rubber shoes. You can also bring food & drinking water. The place is quite far from any store so better a scout. And of course, bring an extra shirt.
Can you do camping there?
Definitely but I don't know how much is the charge.
